Majozo, Estella Conwill
(born: 1949)Majozo was born in Louisville, KY. Early in her career, she produced the play Purgatory. She is a performer who has authored several books, including works of poetry (The Middle Passage and Jiva Telling Rites) as well as several plays.
Majozo was a collaborator in the creation of the terrazzo and brass project Rivers for the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, NY.
A graduate of the University of Louisville (B.A. & M.A.) and the University of Iowa (Ph.D.), she was an English full professor who taught creative writing at the University of Louisville.
