Louisville Free Public Library Photograph Collection

Particularly notable in this collection are the photographs of the Louisville Orchestra in the late 1940s with conductor Robert Whitney (see also Robert S. Whitney Papers) at the library's recording studio and views of activities at the Western Branch, a segregated library which was also home of the first training program in the United States for African American librarians. Available at the Archives and Special Collections, Photographic Archives at the Univesity of Louisville.
