Morgan, Benjamin J.(born: 1861 - died: 1915)
Benjamin J. Morgan was born in Kentucky to Thomas Grayson and Amanda Christopher Morgan; he used his stepfather's last name (William Morgan). Benjamin J. Morgan worked at a real estate firm in Cincinnati and later studied chiropody. He then moved to Indianapolis, where he opened a successful practice and was in great demand; one of his patients was Indiana Governor Claude Matthews. Morgan was also prominent in the African American community in Indianapolis. Benjamin J. Morgan died of Brights Disease in Indianapolis, IN in 1915 [source: Indiana Certificate of Death].
