Harris, Albert and Maria
Like many enslaved couples in Kentucky, Albert and Maria Harris considered themselves to be husband and wife, but they were separated and sold by their owner. At the end of slavery, they searched for one another for 37 years, and on February 17, 1886 they were remarried in Saline County, MO.
