She enlisted in the Army with the name Lafayette B. Clark when she was married and living in Indianapolis, IN, according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases. She enlisted in Fort Des Moines, IA in 1943. According to the marriage license, Lafayette B. Warr and Mose Clark, Jr. were married in Phenix City, AL in March of 1944 when they were both enlisted in the U.S. Army and stationed at Fort Benning (source: Alabama Marriage License Record, p. 169, in Ancestry).
According to the Kentucky Birth Index in Ancestry, Iona L. Warr was born in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Frank and Rosella Chism Warr. The family is enumerated in the 1920 U.S. Census. In the 1930 U.S. Census her name is listed as Lafayette Warr.
After her military service, Lafayette B. Clark spent most of her life in Newark, NJ. When she retired, she returned home to Louisville for a period. She died in Rockville, MD in 2006.
