Clara Mae Alcorn was born in Stanford, KY, the daughter of Rev. Essie and Mary E. Gordon Alcorn. She enlisted in the Army in Cincinnati, OH in 1943, according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases, and in Ancestry. After her military service she married; her name was Clara Mae Alcorn McGilmer. She died in Detroit, MI.
