Turley, Jack C.

(born: June 29, 1949  -  died: October 6, 1998) Jack C. Turley was born in Hazard, KY, the son of Floyd and Alberta Williams Turley and a brother to Alicestyne Turley. Jack Turley was president of Craine Air Inc. chartered tours and vice president of Alberta Turley Institute. He was a graduate of aviation at the Florida Institute of Technology and had extensive flight experience.

Turley enlisted in the Army in 1967 and became a pilot in 1969. From 1969-1972, he was a pilot for the U.S. Army Aviator and the Army Combat Helicopter Unit. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the Air Evacuation and Medi-Vacs Units. Jack Turley earned a number of medals, including the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Air Service Medal. He served with the Army Reserves until 1988. 

After his military career,Turley served as the senior training captain for British Aerospace, Inc. and was a flight instructor for Japan Airlines, American Eagle, TWA Express, and several other companies. He was a Baltimore City Police Flight Officer and was an instructor for the Maryland State Police Helicopter Unit. He died in Clinton, MD and is buried in the Turley Cemetery in West Bend, KY.
