Shannon, John W.

(born: 1933) 

Born in Louisville, KY, Colonel Shannon has served as liaison officer in the Office of the Secretary of the Army. He was sworn in as the Under Secretary of the Army in 1989, serving at that post until 1993. He has earned numerous awards in the area of military force development and structure, personnel policy, and administrative and congressional affairs.

Col. Shannon is a graduate of Central State University and Shippensburg State College [now Shippensburg University].
