Henderson, Edmonia

(born: 1900  -  died: 1947) 

Born Jennie Katherine Edmonia Henderson in Jefferson County, KY, she became a blues singer and later an evangelist. She sang with Jelly Roll Morton, Tommy Ladnier, and Johnny Dobbs.

By 1928 she was teaching and giving gospel concerts at the Griffith Conservatory of Music in Louisville. By 1932 she had married and become Reverend Edmonia Buckner.
