Akins, Clyde B., Sr.

(born: Bath Springs, Tennessee, May 4, 1950

Clyde B. Akins, Sr. is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Bracktown, KY and an educator. He is also author of From burden to blessing. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Social Work, and his Master's of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry are from Lexington Theological Seminary.

Akins served in the Army as a multilingual interpreter and taught foreign languages, having studied eight languages. He was appointed to the Kentucky Board of Education in 2006 and appointed by Governor Steve Beshear to the University of Kentucky Board of Trustee in 2011.
